Being Spiritually Centered
Posted on March 10th, 2010
Being spiritually centered is living from the soul instead of the ego. Viewing life through spiritual eyes and seeing the bigger picture beyond the common dualities of right and wrong, good and bad, rich and poor. It’s a peaceful, calm place where all possibilities exist simultaneously.
When I’m centered within my soul, I know I am eternal, expansive, and much bigger than my body and mind. I feel the oneness with Source and know that I am a part of everything that exists. I am able to be present in my body, allowing emotions to surface and process without being taken hostage by them. I can use my analyzer to think, plan and organize the necessary details of my life, but remain senior to it and turn it off when it’s done.
Being spiritually centered allows me to trust the flow of life and know that I am safe and all my needs are being met. I intuitively know what step to take next, where to go, and when to let go. At times I feel as though I’m floating on a cloud of unconditional love and support from the Universe. Until that moment when I let a distraction, irritation or annoyance become bigger than me and I come crashing down, waking my ego from its dreamy vacation so it can return to its taskmaster post.
During these meddlesome times when I forget who I am and how powerful I am as a spiritual being, life gets choppy. My mind grinds away with worry, planning and plotting. My body lurches from one activity to the next, grumbling from dissatisfaction, longing for something different. As thinking takes over, distracting me from any opportunity for stillness or silence, my emotions decide it’s time for a revolution. Bombs of anger explode without warning, rivers of sadness sweep me further away from my sanctuary. And if that’s not enough, fear will sneak up behind me, throw a bag over my head and torment me for days.
Okay, so maybe I exaggerate a little, but it’s definitely a different world from when I’m spiritually centered. What’s the difference like for you? Don’t you find you’re less reactive, and more trusting, peaceful and optimistic when you’re spiritually centered? Do you notice how easy life becomes, how synchronicities abound, and abundance is everywhere when you, as a spiritual being, take charge?

Gini - I found this article blissful. I’m presently enjoying the lovely energy it calls forth. Your imagery of emotions is powerful and moving. As I read, it came to mind the practice of coming home to spiritual balance each day is a gift we give ourselves and everyone around us.
