Spark of Light

Like rays of the sun, we are each rays of light from the one Source of everything. At our core we are the essence of God, Creator, the Universe or whatever term you use to describe the eternal Source of life.
When we come into these human bodies we are subject to the cultural, societal and familial conditioning that has come before us. Within these there are many limiting beliefs and messages about who we really are and what we are capable of. It is like covering up a light bulb with dirt, debris and mud until the light no longer shines through. If all we see is the muck covering up the light, we begin to believe we are the muck; the limiting beliefs and messages. We see others as the muck they are covered up with as well. Yet in truth, we are each a bright shining light of love and miracles.
Seeing the falseness in the muck helps to loosen its grip; realizing that we are not our thoughts, emotions, behaviors and beliefs, but are so much more. As we remove what is not us, we touch into the brightness of who we really are.
Many fall prey to a false fear that if they remove the muck there will be nothing underneath. This is a lie that keeps us locked into the conditioning. There may be a space of nothingness between the muck and the light, but it is a place of spaciousness where we can breathe a sigh of relief as me move into total freedom.
Remember, you are a spark of light and so is everyone you encounter. Look for that light underneath the mucky pretenses and it will shine through.
