Patience

“Patience is the companion of wisdom.” ~ Saint Augustine

patiencePatience is filled with ease, peace, and grace. As we touch into its essence we instantly relax; a deep breath ensues and we know that everything is in divine order. When we embody a state of impatience we feel rushed, hurried and stressed. There’s an urgency to do or complete something and if anything interferes, a wave of anger arises engulfing anyone in its path.

We can’t try to be patient as ‘trying’ only reinforces impatience. We can hold our breath, tap our toes and count to ten while waiting for someone to do things our way or for a situation to resolve itself, but this is a forced form of patience; one that only disguises our inner wrath temporarily. To truly become patient, we have to move into an inner state of patience. Read the rest of this entry »

Allowing

Posted on November 1st, 2010

Being in a State of Non-Resistance

Posted on October 19th, 2009

daisyLike a flower blowing gently in the breeze, being in a state of non-resistance means going with the flow, while being grounded at the same time. When we stop resisting life we move into ease and everything falls into perfect alignment. Synchronicities abound, aches and pains diminish, stress melts away, creativity flourishes, relationships heal, and we experience a profound sense of peace.

Resistance requires effort whereas being in a state of non-resistance requires no effort at all. When we are in resistance we become stuck, defensive, shut down and reactive. Even slight forms of resistance can cause emotional and physical distress, blinding us to possibilities and solutions. Fear, judgment, and denial are all forms of resistance.

Non-resistance involves accepting what is, even if it is unpleasant as resisting it only makes it worse. Resistance acts like glue, sticking us to the things we don’t want to be near. Yet when we let go, relax and move into a state of ease, difficult situations disappear or don’t bother us as much.

When we live in a state of non-resistance, without holding, pushing away or struggling for or against anything, we move into the stream of life where the essence of our being is free to flow through us and into our daily activities. Read the rest of this entry »
