Life

“I don’t want to get to the end of my life and find that I lived just the length of it. I want to have lived the width of it as well.”  Diane Ackerman

enthusiasmTo live life fully is to embrace the richness of each moment, each experience, each encounter. Life is filled with an array of experiences, some pleasant, some not. If we shut our eyes to the unpleasant side, we miss out on the wholeness and fullness of life. When we are present in every aspect of our lives we rely less on external circumstances to fill us up as we know we are already complete. We are then free to enjoy the different scenarios without attachment. Like the turn of a kaleidoscope, each day offers a new picture.

Some miss out on the fullness of life because they are too afraid to participate; they live vicariously while their life sits on a shelf like a book waiting to be opened. Others fill their days with so much busyness and distractions their life becomes a blur, similar to the terrain when you zoom past it on the highway. Read the rest of this entry »

Simplicity

Posted on October 1st, 2009

“Simplicity is the glory of expression.”
Walt Whitman

simple1Life is meant to be simple, easy and enjoyable, not complicated, difficult and frustrating. Simplicity is a state of being; it feels peaceful, yet alert; still, yet flowing. It’s where yin meets yang; where the nurturing, creative, feminine aspect merges with the active, manifesting, masculine energy. Being in a state of simplicity is being in the ultimate balance of one’s true nature.

When we embody a state of simplicity and bring it to all of our activities and encounters, productivity increases effortlessly, relationships flow with ease, communications unfold with clarity, and our lives become an expression of our heart and soul’s passion. Read the rest of this entry »

Move into the Present Moment

Posted on September 23rd, 2009

clarityAs spiritual beings we can be in the past, present and future all at once if we choose, but as human beings, our bodies can only be in the present moment. Our thinking mind can reflect on the past and plan for the future, but it only has real power in the present. If we spread our attention and energy in too many places at once, including the past and future, it can be overwhelming for the body, leaving it feeling tired, depleted and scattered. Moving into the present moment calms the mind calms and relaxes the body.

When we have all of our energy in the body and focus our mental attention in the present moment - into what’s happening here and now - we create balance. The body, mind and soul work together as a team and we step into the flow of life instead of going against it. We become energized and productive, yet relaxed and peaceful at the same time. From this place we have full access to our intuition and can listen to our inner voice for guidance. Read the rest of this entry »

Centered Within

Posted on June 12th, 2009

calmwatersCentered within is being centered within your true self, where you access your highest truth and live from a place of ease and balance. When a person says they are ‘uncentered’ they usually feel off balance, as if they are being pulled in one direction or another away from their inner peace. They may become easily reactive, judgmental, and lost in their thoughts, unaware of what their body needs. Or they may be so off center that they are not in their body or mind at all, and feel spacey, ungrounded and unclear.

Moving back into one’s center involves being in the present moment, noticing what is actually going on, instead of getting lost in stories, drama, or the past and future. Being centered allows you to feel what emotions and sensations are going on in the body, and this supports you to communicate with your body and give it what it needs in order to be healthy.

Most important, being centered within yourself connects you to your higher spiritual self instead of operating from your smaller ego self. You can see the bigger picture in life, see both sides of the story, see beyond polarities, and see the truth in any situation. From your spiritual center you touch into higher vibrations of love, joy, peace, ease, acceptance, forgiveness, enthusiasm and freedom. It’s the place where blessings are received and miracles are created. Read the rest of this entry »
